Transfer Admissions Counseling

Our Transfer Admissions Counseling Program is sequenced to guide existing college students through every phase of the transfer admissions process, from start to finish. 

After we meet with you in the new student consultation, we’ll deliver a customized plan to help you accomplish your transfer admissions goals. 

Depending on their timelines, students in the Transfer Program meet with their counselor as often as needed to reach the application finish line by the winter and spring transfer deadlines.

SELF-DISCOVERY, SELF-MARKETING, BUILDING TRANSFER COLLEGE LIST

Ideal start: fall/winter prior to intended transfer

In this phase, students solidify their transfer preferences, learn about the transfer admissions process, and develop a self-marketing plan to showcase their skills, talents, and experiences on college transfer applications. Other topics might include creating a resume, developing references and soliciting letters of recommendation, exploring new majors & discovering interests, and/or college interview prep.

In addition to conducting their own research and exploration, students will receive high-quality college recommendations from their counselor. Over time, students work with their counselor to create an individually curated final list of transfer options that align with their academic, social-emotional, and financial needs and wants.

WRITING THE TRANSFER PERSONAL STATEMENT & SCHOOL-SPECIFIC ESSAYS

Ideal start: winter prior to intended transfer

In this phase, students brainstorm and write a well-polished transfer personal statement for their college applications. We also help students create polished resumes and provide comprehensive guidance on writing school-specific supplement essays. Students also receive frequent, unbiased, critical feedback from our team of expert essay coaches, ensuring final products are creative, compelling, and professionally vetted.

COMPLETING COLLEGE TRANSFER APPLICATIONS (Process Management)

Ideal start: winter/spring prior to intended transfer

In this final phase, we help students develop a sound, data-driven application strategy and provide process-management guidance as they complete and submit their transfer applications by target deadlines. Prior to submitting them, we also audit completed applications for errors & omissions.

For students enrolled in the full Transfer Program, we also provide advice throughout the transfer enrollment decision-making process.

A LA CARTE SESSIONS

We completely understand that some students just need a little help here and there. We don’t often have space in our schedule, but when we do, we may be able to offer essay review cycles and limited-scope college counseling sessions on a per-session basis.  Tuition: $275 per session/essay review cycle, up to one hour.
